Curious about taxes in Australia?

Here are some FAQs answered by Pro Tax Advisors.

Anyone who has worked legally in Australia and paid taxes can claim a refund, including backpackers and international students with temporary visas.
To file your tax return, you will need:
  • Your Tax File Number (TFN)
  • Payment summaries from your employers (Payslips)
  • Australian bank account details
  • Any other relevant documents, such as receipts for work-related expenses or income statements (optional)
In Australia, the fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, so you should prepare your Tax Return starting from July 1 and you have until October 31 to complete the process and claim your refund.
